Hello

I am building a new rig and decided to try Skylake.
Can't afford custom water setup right now, so I bought a Rajintek Tisis and hoping to oc my 6600k a bit.
How far can I push it on air cooling?
And what settings should I use - some basics at least ;-)

Thanks

Well I got a Rajintek Pallas. 140mm low profile cooler. I'm happy with the choice because looking at the ShadowRock Slim, they are about the same size as each other. And you are getting a decent enough overclock with yours there.

Actually come to think of it at 1.25v would mean that your CPU is what's performing quite a lot better than the average. Being lower down on the voltage curve than we normally hear about.

It's an engineering sample so might be. Will check the voltages tomorrow as I have been testing a lot lately.

Its been running at 1.29v not 1.25v but still perfectly stable and cool. :)

Ran it for 40 hours throughout the week with aida64 with no issues max temp 70 degrees. I even ran it through 10 passes of Intel Burn Test with 32Gb, all cores, maximum memory setting and it got to 74 Degrees on 1 core. I have just built 5 more systems with the same spec so will see if I have lucked out and got a great ES chip.

Got the 6600k running at 4.5ghz 21c idle with a corsair h110i gt with stock fans running at low, just trying to find out if my overclock is stable with AIDA64 so far it whent up to over 40c when running but I got a hardware failure after 40 mins not bad as ive just tried the cpu core volt at 1.26v in the bios.

I built my brother in law's rig with a 6600k that does 4.5ghz at 1.200v, including cache, and stays under 55 degrees in XTU stress test using a NH-D15.

Mother of all chips...
