I just had to upgrade from 1155 as the motherboard died on me (not too far outside the warranty grrr). I picked up a Z170-A motherboard, DDR4 and a 6600k through OCUK and their upgrade service.

I now have the 6600k and would like to overclock it. I've been reading the follow thread (http://www.overclock.net/t/1570313/skylake-overclocking-guide-with-statistics). I'm running with the Noctua D-15 which kept my 4.2 3770k very cool.

This will be my first time attempting to overclock so I don't want to go crazy into the advanced side of it. But from reading around I get the impression that you could do the following, giving a stable and rewarding boost.

"2. All Skylake CPUs so far can hit 4.4GHz. Try 4.4GHz at ~1.35v. It should work and be stable. If not, apply 1.4v. Stable? Good."

Any comments would be welcome.

Yes 4.4Ghz @ 1.35V would be fine but of course every chip is different but i believe it would have to be pretty poor to not reach such clocks with 1.35V.
