660ti SLI not worth upgrading?

Okay. So I've been pondering since September about upgrading my 660ti Sli setup to something more powerful. Primary reason obviously the 192bit memory bus width is tiny and as EVERYONE says, thats not enough to play games at 2560x1440 resolution!

However. After looking at reviews for the 290x, Titan & 780 and the benchmarks I get higher fps than these single cards, so infact the 192bit bus width isn't a problem.

For example at 2560x1440 in two games I get

Bioshock Infinite Ultra settings : 79fps
Sleeping Dogs Extreme setting: 50 fps

the list could go on.

The only problem being is some games I play don't play well with SLI, Rome Total War 2 and Company of Heroes 2 (both sega games!) and i have to crank the details down to play these games. Plus going back to one card and maybe going SLI/Crossfire later down the line appeals to me.

So basically I'm just looking for peoples opinions/advice, I'm not fussed either Red or Green for purchasing either.

660ti sli is pretty good performance.
if i were you i would wait for the proper next gen coming this spring

Yeah, hold to them. Given the current economic climate, cheap and cheerful is the way to go.

I'm in the same boat, currently using 660Ti SLI and also with 2560*1444 monitor, based on reviews it's more or less the same performance as a Titan/GTX780.

Is it worth the purchase just to not have to use SLI? I don't know....

I went for a GTX780, got one for £367.

There's not much difference in performance coming from GTX660ti SLI, at least in benchmarks.

The real benefit is that you don't depend on SLI support anymore which in some cases will give you a nice boost in itself, also the extra 1GB of memory will probably help at 2560*1440.
