thinking of purchasing a new card in a couple months, can't decide between the two.
just want to know if the 670 is worth the extra money really.
I currently own a 560ti

Depends, if you play the most demanding games on the highest settings possible, in some of them you'll get anywhere from 5-25~ more FPS out of the GTX 670 due to the extra memory bandwidth. It apparantly stomps the 660ti when using SLi too by quite a large margin.
That said the GTX 660ti seems to overclock like a beast so it's up to you to justify that extra bit of money i'd say. GTX 670 a little more future proof with better SLi, GTX 660ti is still a bit steep but just as good for the money for a single card - i'd go for the latter.

Since your buying in a couple of months its hard to give advice given that both cards are likely to be discounted in that period. At the moment you would be better off with a gtx670, if you want 660ti performance you should get 7870 which is cheaper. Nvidia could discount the gtx660ti in the next couple of months which could make it a better buy then again they may not so its a case of wait and see for the moment.

I have the msi 660ti and it seems just about enough to play any of the latest at 1080p max settings at 60fps.

If you can afford the extra £50 I would say get the 670.
