6630 Unlocking three

Hi guys has anyone had an 6630 unlocked by 3. If so how much was it?

Probably around £20 if im not mistaken, thats what most other networks charge i think.

3 will quote you about £120-£130 and if you accept they will find an excuse not to do it

Unlocking codes available on e-bay for about £10 i think atm.

can the 6680 be unlocked now?
last time i checked (admitedly a while ago) it wasn't possible at the time.

3 quoted me £15 to unlock my 6680, I just need to give them a call after 5th sept when i'm in my last month of contract.

once it's out of contract i assume i am free to have it flashed with generic 6680 software yes?

I suppose, but flashing doesnt unlock the phone. I've just flashed my 6680 to the lastest firmware with Nokias new updating program, and its still a '3' phone.

yep! just started a new contract with o2 and have a shiney new n73 (unlocked)

the 3 sim works in the n73 but the o2 sim doesnt in the 6680 (locked to 3). I'll still be using the 6680 for the satnav, tomtom aint out for n73 yet.

so i can't remove the three branding from my 6680 and turn it into a vanilla 6680?

Unless things have changed its only the phone company that can unlock the 6680. When I updated the phone using Nokias software, the '3' branding was kept, it didnt update to a generic type. If anything it added more '3' branding! (just an extra '3' picture on startup). That wasnt there before.

Once the phone is unlocked I'm not sure if it would be possible get rid or remove the branding :confused:

I have just had my 6680 unlocked by 3 it was free because my contract had finished . They told me somebody would ring me within 7 to 15 day's. Then 6 hrs later i got the phone call so take no notice of all the horror stories u hear about 3 66 series unlocking they've finally got their act together.I HOPE!!!

Oh yeah it was a 20+ digit code no wonder nobody can crack it :mad:
