6670 single click on boot.

Hi.

I built my first build in 6 years yesterday. I have been using a laptop previously.

Anyway I have noticed a clicking sound in between the windows is loading screen and the login screen. In between these screens I get tick and a blank screen with the odd horizontal line flashing up.

At first I was worrying that it was a PSU issue because I broke my golden rule with this PC and got a cheap Coolermaster 500w Elite PSU that came with the case. But now after googling it I have found someone with a 5870 who has the exact same problem at the exact same time during boot. He narrowed it down to his 5870 after pretty much changing every component in his PC. I'm pretty sure its the 6670 now.

It this normal? PC is perfectly stable and running fine. The card is 2nd hand. I bought it off AVForums last year.

Coolermaster aren't bad PSU's do you have a sound card? The asus ones click on bootup

Yes I have installed a Xonar DS. It is strange that when the clicking occurs the screen goes blank for a second.

I ran Furmark for a few minutes and the 6670 was fine.

It's the sound card. It's just being initialised at the same time as the graphics.
