Hi there,
Would a 670 (faster) or a 7950 (more VRAM) be best for a heavily modded Oblivion?
I know that this sounds like a silly question given the age of oblivion (it won't tax either card) and the fact that it is cpu limited but I was wondering if in a very heavily graphically modded version of oblivion there would be a benefit in having the 3GB of VRAM on the 7950 as opposed to the 2GB on the 670.
I currently run a 2600K at 4.5 Ghz so there's not much more I can do on the processor front, going to upgrade my 570 1.25GB (which regularly hits it's maximum VRAM usage with Quarl's, Better Cities, Really AEVWD etc)... I run a resolution of 1920x1600 and have no plans to increase this in the near future.
Obviously I'd probably choose the 670 as it performs better in BF3 and other games than the 7950 but if it'll improve my oblivion experience then I'll go ATI.
Has anyone seen usage exceed 2GB in Oblivion or is this more than enough?
Thanks!
