670+!!!

Hi

I like others missed out on the 670 and I would like to own one since I'm not a hardcore gamer, the 670 I have had my eye on for some time and heard better things about it than the 7xx so to get to the point I was told since I have a asus 7770 OC that if I get the 670 I would have to get a new monitor as I have a asus vw192s I'm not planing on 1440p I just want more detail on my gaming and not have my fan up 100%.

Rite now I play skyrim on medium and max res my monitor goes to and am not getting bad details it just looks like I'm playing the console version.

So would I have to get a new monitor just for the 670?

You wont have to get a new monitor, it's just advisable to get a new monitor considering most of the grunt the 670 will give would be wasted @1440*900 res, you could get a new monitor and use the 7770, it should be good for high/vhigh on Skyrim @1080p.

I was thinking just a new monitor but my 7770 bring heat I don't feel rite with if I put all on auto settings or put games higher than medium so I wanted a 670 and keep being told I need a new monitor.

What kind of temps are we talking though? Can you not also limit the frame rate? That'll keep the card from getting to 99% usage and giving off all that extra heat.

Well I'm stupid on stuff I put the fan on 40% to keep the card at 50c running skyrim at 1440x900 and medium.

I have other games 1 being cod bo2 and that's on low settings and get over 50c

50C....Mate, thats cool. Start worrying when your cards are getting into the mid 90s
Up the bleeding settings and get the card working.

Lol I know I'm a wuzz and just like to keep my stuff cool and quite.

I have a solo 2 case so air is not the best.

The 670 is overkill just for Skyrim/CoD, especially at that res. That is why people are suggesting you also get a new monitor.

My advice would be to grab a 670 whilst there are some left and then look to upgrade the monitor at a later date.

I was going to do that while there still is 6xx left and get a monitor later on.

I have more than just them 2 just have way too many to list lol.
