6700 2 Hot Cores

Core 0 runs 10c hotter and core 1 runs 20c hotter than core 3 and 4. Cooler is mounted correctly as is thermal paste. Is this another one of Intel's **** paste jobs...

If its the K then yeah maybe look into delidding if it becomes an issue.

Not k but I was going to oc it using modded bios, I guess time to hunt down a delid tool.

Even delidded, my 4770k has an 8c difference between the hottest and coolest cores

20c is something else though. Cores 3 and 4 are great, I'm guessing too much or little cheap paste where cores 1/2 are situated.

I would run prime95 or similar first.

What have you been using your CPU for? Could it just be that you were only using 1 core? I quick stress test will soon get the answer anyway.

that core 3 @49c is a great temp if you have been gaming or doing something to stress it.
