6700k *4.5Ghz+????*

As title really, It does not seem to matter what i do really. I have tried upping the vcore,default ram(no xmp),uncore....

Spec:
6700k @ 4.5Ghz (1.37v Not tried to lower it, max temps 73c load)
Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7
16Gb Corsair Dominator 3000mhz
Corsair H100i v2 (default fans)
MSI 390 @ 1100/1600
Superflower 850 watt

Any help would be great, 4.5ghz is stable and had no issues getting there but any higher just seems to be a nightmare :mad::confused::(.

Yeah, I think im just missing something. I have not long moved for 1366 socket/5670k overclocked. im a total noob with these new fancy bios's :D:p.
 
ive had tdp issues before, especially if its failing under load. Up the TDP in the bios. Should be something like "maximum long duration power limit". Likely in CPU power management. Put it to about 150w.

Other than that it may have hit its wall and might just not be a good overclocker. I would still expect more than that though to be honest.

Mine 6700K is even worse but at the moment I got it at 4646mhz with voltage reaching 1.424 under load.
4.5 it can do at 1.4 under load.
Tried everything as well but no joy and my power limits are set to like 250w.
My temps are maxing out at 65 degrees with 1.424v.

Maybe you reached the limit of your CPU with your current hardware.

Set the PWM to extreme performance and try again.

Try dropping mems to 2133 and Cache to stock of 4ghz then try push the CPU up higher and adjust Vcore to gain stability.

Often 6700K CPU can't OC over 4.5 24/7 stable. It really can be simply pot luck if you have got a ood clocking CPU or not.
 
What is the max temp on the 6700k? I keep seeing all different figures about.
Intel state 64 on the 6700k and 71 on the 6700 which seems odd. I have even seen people saying it is ok in the 80's, just wondered what you recommended?

Under 85 is fine when running avx type stress tests as in gaming or normal none avx use your then always below 75c.

What did you up the vcore to? My 6700k is slightly power hungry and requires 1.39 for 4.6 and its completely stable there although temps hover at 80c.
 
My 6700k @4.5v only needs 1.28v with a max temp of about 50c while gaming with a corsair H110i GT.
