Hi all,

I've recently purchased a new PC after having issues with a previous PC I built a few years back (this one I brought pre built), these are the specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six-Core Processor
16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz
WD_BLACK SN850 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVME SSD
Corsair 4000D Airflow Edition
Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB Graphics Card
Corsair TX650M 650W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA
bequiet! PURE ROCK 2 Black
Samsung G7 240hz monitor

I appear to be getting weird stuttering in Windows (mouse skipping) & also some strange graphic glitches, I have so far tried valorant & dirt 5 - both seem to have issues (see images), Valorant I can make the graphics glitch go away in game if I turn anti aliasing off (black line across the screen), but I still get weird stutters (the FPS graph is showing solid with no dips), in dirt 5 I'm getting strange texture issues (see over the sea etc), i've tried lowering graphics etc but it still remains. So far I've tried:

Checking all parts inside the PC are seated correctly
Updated windows (it came pre installed)
Removed all graphics drivers with DDU in safe mode, and re installed
Fiddled about in Radeon software including switching off freesync, turning off and on different settings like anti lag etc to see if that's the issue.

Anything I'm missing? :)

Many thanks,

Tried dialing back the clocks on the GPU? From looking at Valorant it looks like artificating, but on DiRT 5 it looks like you're driving under the ground with the terrain on top (goin by the grass in the sky because one sided terrain is less memory intensive)

checked windows using right refresh rate for monitor?
check mb bios update for stability or compat improvements?
for mouse check mouse drivers from manufacturer i.e Logitech etc?
if on 21.3.2 drivers try 21.3.1 instead? or vice versa?
cpuz and gpuz screenies might help
dxdiag report might help u can save it and then copy and paste into a post using spoiler tags.
check temps with gpuz, run this go to sensors, play a game then quit after a bit then screenshot the results.
Try in amd drivers panel, setting, factory reset to reset all settings and profiles to default incase you tweaked something thats causing it?
Check the dp or hdmi cable ur using, try a diff cable if possible? Make sure in amd settings ur using the right settings like 8 or 10 bit in global monitor section and pixel format 4 4 4 full rgb.

Valorant seems to be a issue with rdna2 cards the 6xxx series as some on reddit ive found have same issue caused by 4x msaa, any other option should work they say so try 2x msaa or just keep it off for now?

Id recommend using amd report tool in drivers to tell em about the issue so it can get fixed by devs or amd drivers in the next driver release or patch.

Grass in the air in dirt 5 is known apparently by devs

Id reply to the steam topic if it were me and say ur using a 6700 xt and you cant go back to the drivers the dev stated as a workaround, show ur pic links too. Might help get a fix out for ur card.

So apart from them games and hopefully mouse drivers or refresh rate helps ur mouse issue, then ur probs fine as the games arnt ur issues its the games/drivers issues so just need to wait for new drivers or game updates.

Also u can try adjusting to these it helped some issues i had with mouse a bit.

Hi guys,

I really appreciate you both taking the time to reply, Skeeter I hadn't seen those issues on reddit and it clearly isn't just me then thanks for going into so much detail, I'm assuming potentially the stuttering may be software related?

@Digital what would lowering the graphics clock down do? Sorry if I'm sounding thick. :)

It was suggested to lower clocks to fix artifacts but since its not your system but game/drivers you shouldnt need to worry about trying it now.

Stuttering, is it one or all games, if one try asking in pc games section, find a topic for said game explain the stuttering and see if they can help or try steam forums/then by game to ask there maybe or a official forum for said game. Probs better.

Get 6800 if you can buy it for under 600

Hi all, further to the above the dirt 5 issue has been fixed updating to version 21.3.2, I thought that was what I was on but clearly not! It brought in ray tracing, and having that enabled plays fine. Valorant is still an issue but I've logged it with AMD & Valorant - I'm assuming as the card is so new there is going to be some teething issues with certain games. Thanks all for your help.

What are the temps like? Maybe cooler had factory fault with install and it's messing things up?

Temps are bang on - it's really only valorant to be fair, best way to describe it is like weird slipping/stuttering when moving mouse around, if I run in a straight line, it's fine. :D

Hi all,

Just a conclusion to the issue should anyone have the same problem.

The issues surrounding really bad stuttering when moving etc turned out to be caused by my wireless G305 gaming mouse. The reason it didn’t happen in other games (shadow of the tomb raider, dirt rally, F1 2020) were because I was using a controller.

I was getting so frustrated, it was only when I ended up plugging back in my old PC to find the issue was there still, it clicked, I plugged in a wired mouse and the issue went away.

I think it’s interfering with something - no idea what.

The dirt 5 issue was fixed with the new AMD graphics drivers, artifact on Valorant is temp fixed by adjusting graphics settings.

Thanks all for your assistance.
