So I'm starting to rememeber why i left AMD years ago.

Just swapped out a 3060Ti for a 6700xt.

Did all the driver uninstall using DDU etc, clean AMD install

Running Battlefield 5 quick test and the clock speeds won't go over 580mhz.

The 3060Ti just worked, didn't have to touch a thing for 2 years. Are AMD still this bad? Please any advice.

did the auto overclocking in adrenaline and it is letting the card boost up to 2000+ but the game still drops to 500mhz quite often. God these amd cards are an absolute ball ache.

Is the game performance dropping with the GPU clock drops, or it is only dropping during menus/deaths etc where not much GPU power is needed?

Are you expecting static clocks the entire time you're playing?

Wasn't needed but whatever

shouldn't need to touch any overclocking options

So which is it? dropping to 500mhz or won't go above 580mhz?

My AMD 6650XT just works (as have the majority of AMD cards I've owned)

Maybe you should stuck with Nvidia, your posts are verging on Baiting...

Presumably you've got an adequate PSU, and plugged in the PCI-E power cables correctly?

It could be my 300 watt PSU from Maplin, maybe that could be it?

lol.

Nah I have a antec trupower 750 gamer, giving the card 2 x seperate cables not power from the same.

I've tried everything now. It seemed to run a little better with driver only installed but still dropping to 500mhz circa in games. Then forced the minimum clocks to 2000mhz, seems to run a bit better but still getting stuttering in Battlefield 4 and now Battlefront 2 doesn't load.

I've started the return because I don't have the time to barely game any more let alone spend an entire day off work troubleshooting. I'm too old for this crap.

Just gonna get the 3060Ti back and be happy. AMD never ever again, they could drop the 7900xt to 50 quid I still wouldn't buy it because time is more valuable.

Just installed 6700xt this week for new build no issues with clock speeds hitting 2600mhz fresh install of Windows , check card temps while gaming and power used ? Run stress test within the AMD adrenaline drivers it's in the top right see if it sustains the load throughout
.
I'm impressed with its performance for £300 and 12gb vram

Stress test ran perfectly , maintained 2500mhz or there abouts

bet it was either a paste issue or faulty cooler installation, temps likely low enough to pass a stress test but we all know a stress test doesnt really compare to real world application i/e gaming. happens on both sides and not just amd.

Is it old install of Windows? Reinstall battlefield? What are the temps?

Bios updated? Rebar enabled?
Old windows install, tries reinstall all games but still persists.

Temps seem pretty decent even on game sessions never exceeding 70c , often around 64c

Updated b450 tomahawk bios. Not sure about rebar, does that work with 3700x cpu?

Thanks for help

Temps look good what's the hotspot? , Rebar isn't likely to resolve it that just gives free performance boost not sure about support for the older stuff
