Did the 2080 Ti have any warranty left? That'd be the main advantage I can see. Wait, I think I read that wrong, you went the other way?

Maybe raytracing and 4K performance?

I wouldn't have made the same move, but the 2080ti is still a great card.

Yup, seems fair. I'd still choose the 6900XT though, rips the 3080Ti a new one running at 2.7/2.8Ghz (had both)

2080 Ti full load = 340 watts
6700 XT full load = 217 watts due to TSMC's more efficient 7 nm fabrication process

I'm assuming he could not sell his 6700xt and buy a 6900xt though so your comparison doesn't make sense

I would have gone 6900XT personally, the 2080 Ti is a fast card but a power hungry hog too for the performance given.
