Hello

Is this worth it you think? I need a bit more power now as the 6770 doesn't cut it for me, I can get a Sapphire 6950 2gb tomorrow for £30, I thought this was cheap and would be a nice performance upgrade, I am not looking at spending mega money right now as other priorities come first.

I game at 1080p

Hope I can flash it to a 6970 and get even more performance :D

Relatively speaking, it's a large upgrade. I don't know how the 6950 holds up in the latest games, but benchmarks from the time suggest you'd be nearly doubling your average framerates. For £30, I don't see why not.

You can't go wrong with that price. I have a 6850 @ 850/1100 I still tweak certain game ini for min 60fps e.g. payday 2, BF3. I just ran L4D recently and I put a frame cap on it with msi afterburner.

Are u going to try GTA5 or Witcher 3 with that GPU?

Thanks for replies.

My 6770 isn't great and I game at 1080p for most games, but majority of settings are set to low, for decent FPS.

I will playing GTA V though, not Witcher 3, other games I play are:

Alien Isolation
DiRT Rally
Mortal Kombat X
Project Cars

And obviously any newer games that come out which take my interest.

I was getting good framerates (50+) on newish stuff like Dragon Age 3 @ 1080p. The card is still very capable. The only reason I upgraded mine was it fell apart at 1440p otherwise it would have held on.

It's a big and hot card tho :)

I'm using a 6950 and can max out Isolation, but with GTA5 I put everything at low/normal/off to get a consistent 60fps. Same goes with MK:X, it's starting to show it's age but it's still holding on.
