Mate has the 678 error message with Tiscali. He has tried loads of things as suggested on Tiscali website (Accessed via me / phone). Would a format clear the problem and get him back on the net?
It might, or it might not. Without more information (like modem he's using, what lights are on it, whether he's checked the modem still works/has the right settings) it's impossible to say.
He is using bog standard modem supplied by Tiscali. Both lights on green. He has been in touch with Tiscali but no joy! Tried various fixes from internet to no avail. Tried connecting via his sons laptop, still no joy!!
It's probably Tiscali. A friend has had no internet access for over two weeks and Tiscali is still blaming the cable outage in the Olympic village even though we're in deepest Wiltshire. It's not surprising it's going down the pan....
