Has anyone made the jump? Was it worth it.

Currently gaming on 1680*1050 and obviously need to jump to 1440p, but not sure how my 680 would cope!

a single 680 probably wouldn't cope well with 1440p in some newer titles ( Crysis 3, BF4)

A 780Ti will be a little under double the performance (maybe like 80% more performance) compared with your 680 so it will be a big jump.

There are benchmarks of a 780ti nearly matching/beating a 690 ( sort of 2x680's) when overclocked.

The extra vram should help at that res as well

It is a lot of money though. I would probably source another cheap 680 and go SLI till Maxwell/20nm

Either that or find a cheap 780/290. £550 is just too much in my opinion for a single GPU :p. But maybe I am just a tight arse.

1440P and SLI 680's is good for the interim.

If going 780 ti, I would be tempted to go for a 780 instead if I was only gaming. You can save a bundle and the factory OC versions are beasts out the box.

Hmm...well at the moment it's either 1440p or SLI 680s (got to draw the line somewhere!).

I want to make the jump to 1440p, so I'm almost tempted to just take the hit for now.
