After a few days of playing with my new 680 I started to notice that odd sort of over heating electrical smell.
Although you do get that with new equipment for a while sometimes.

I looked at my GPU temps and they seem to top out at about 71deg.
The fan only runs at about 45-47.
It does feel hot to the touch.

Is there any way to up the fan speed, I know I can manually set it but I'd still like it to work on auto.

in msi afterburner there is a section in options or w/e for fan control.

You can manually adjust the fan curve here.

Then on the main afterburner screen just make sure auto and "user define" are both selected.

btw 71c seems pretty normal to me if that's a load game temp?

Thanks, don't know how I missed the fan control.
I did a little more searching and it seems 71 is ok when loaded. (My CPU can't really push it to max)

It just had me worried that I couldn't hear the fan speed increase but that is also normal for this card.

When I'm going to have a long session I will use MSI AB with the fan cranked up a bit.

Thanks.
