Salutations,
I recently got a second 680 (mainly for triple screen gaming) and today I finally hooked up my second card and I'm getting some very frustrating issues. I've tried with two games now Battlefield 3 and Counter Strike Global Offensive. The problem is this I seem to get a stutter when I play and as a result it's practically unplayable.

Battlefield 3: I got the stutter however I checked my FPS and I was within the 60s I even enabled Vsync and it still continued.

CS:GO: Usually 1 680 is easily enough for three screens with FPS in the hundreds, however with two cards I got the horrible stutter and my FPS was around 50/70 instead of being in the hundreds.

I was getting geared up for a gaming night but this has really put a damper on things, please help.

regards, A very disappointed Skeng

EDIT//
My CPU is currently at 4.0Ghz due to some issues (I wont get into it)
I just updated to todays latest drivers
My PSU is 850Watt

It still does it but not quite as bad as before, however flash videos don't work now, all the flash videos just flicker.

Check your SLI bridge.

Mine was flickering so MSI sent me two to make sure, problem solved. They really are terribly fussy. Clean the contacts with some alcohol...

Your issue doesn't sound like micro stutter, more just some sort of lag. It could be drivers but I've had no issues with the latest ones on my SLI set up (though granted I run one screen).

Try making sure you don't have that active vsync enabled too.

I think I'm on the verge of solving it, the video flickering is apparently because of this driver (I'll update to a newer version) and in CSGO I managed to get SLI working perfectly by using a console command "fps_max 60" as for BF3 I used the command gametime.maxvariablefps 60 and it seems like it may have solved the problem however I'm getting drops to 30fps, again I think this is due to a older driver.

For the bf3 stutter issue, open up the console in game, and type
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 1

Worked for me.

Im also using 680sli

Does that stop the game/cards rendering too much at once?

I have posted this a million times across this forum. The first will stop stuttering. I have never used the second command before.

I used to run a 6990+6970 and MS was awful. Command one solved it

You can also try

http://flotgaming.net/forums/showthread.php/12952-BF3-Performance-Overlays

This explains how to check whether your CPU limited or GPU limited

Finally, you can use a user.cfg file in the main BF3 folder to make these commands work everytime you start a game, rather than type them each time

I just tested the graph and apparently my cards are bottle-necking my PC and after putting in all the commands I still get some minor stutters whilst getting a fluent 60fps. I think it might be to do with the voltages of my cards, my main card is about 1.2volts (MSI lightning) and the other is 1.1 (zotac) the MSI card is also clocked higher I'm just wondering would balancing the cards via a voltages possible fix the problem?

Not sure mate. Your cards? Really... trust me it is NOT your 680s mate. It is your 2500k.

Put some screenshots showing the graphs and let me see 'em

I am TonytotheB btw

Well thanks for explaining that to me, i don't have micro stutter, i just wondered what it did. So that's 1,000,001 times you've explained now. ;)

Sorry mate, I didn't mean to have a go. I hope it helps someone haha

Currently I've got my 2500K at 4.3Ghz a few other things I forgot to mention, I have no issue when running BF3 1920x1080 and the graph is perfectly fine, in CSGO I seem to have that working fine however maps with water make my CPU usage spike from 30%/40% to 80%/90% but only in certain areas of the maps and not in the water itself.

The server I went in for these images was a 32 man TDM canals. Also the image on the right is from kombuster, not sure why it shows my main GPU as GPU2, it doesn't do that on EVGA Percision.

I was also using these settings:
gametime.maxvariablefps 60
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 1
render.perfoverlayvisible 1

I think you can download the bigger size here Link (Under option button)

Thanks for taking a interest in the thread, I wouldn't of found that information about the graphs without your help.

I would suggest using MSI AB to limit frames, or indeed NVINSPECTOR rather than in-game BF3 limiter

My graphs with 3 x 680 look the same mate. Green just above yellow, and I have a 3930k

Will give it a go, just out of curiosity what frame rate are you getting in BF3 with 3x 680's?
