My situation:
I currently have 2 x 6950s in XFire.

I play at 2560x1440.

My main game is RIFT which is VERY poorly optimized especially for AMD.
Using XFire I gain about 5 FPS on the ~30 average from a single card so not convinced it's worth it.
Nvidia cards seem to outperform ATI hands down in RIFT, no surprise that it's supported by Nvidia.

I currently pass audio through my 6950's HDMI to my amp when outputting to the 3DTV.

Questions:
Any idea how much improvement I'm likely to see?

Is the 680 likely to be worth the premium over the 7970 considering RIFTs bias toward Nvidia?

Can a 680 pass audio through HDMI?

I don't think a 680's worth the money at all, but a 670 may well be if you NEED nvidia. That being said, it would be, at best, a sidegrade in neutral ga,=mes.

Probably wouldn't buy one new, thinking second hand so looking at spending about £50-100 once I've sold my 6950s. Having said that, a 670 probably wouldn't cost me anything which would be nice.
Single card would also use less power and be easier to cool.

EDIT: Also, Cleeecooo, how often does your sig change mate!?

If I didn't already have a new card I would definetely be getting one of them msi 680's. :)

Audio over hdmi is much better for me on nvidia :)

Only thing with nvidia when using passthrough make sure you tick the box in control panel for 0-255 and ycb444 ;)
