6800 GT graphic problem ..

Hello,

I have just installed a 6800GT into a mates pc.. but for some reason it get really strange graphic problems when trying to play games . eg in far cry you dont have any walls just water and the guy
Same sort of problem happened with Max Payne 2 aswell.
The strange thing is that the Nvidia demos run fine and so does windows?
(tried the 7800 demo Luna)

the PC is :-
its a AMD 64 3400
1 X 512MB ram PC3200
1 X 80Gb HD
SIS on board graphics (128Mb shared).
Nvidia Driver 81.94


Any ideas let me know

I'd try another set of drivers. Here is a link for the Omegadrivers. Perhaps give these a whirl as well.

What patch is installed with Far Cry?

Try disabling the onboard SiS graphics and clean out the drivers with Driver Cleaner.

Maybe the games are still expecting the SIS videocard instead of the nVidia card?

Changing settings does not help?

Thanks for all the help... tried all of the above.
And when we removed the old driver for the onboard graphics and all appears to be good now.

So think your correct with that one
