i've got a bog standard Leadtek 6800 agp card i'd like tweak ;)
12> 16 pipelines and poss overclock.

i have tried the latest version of Rivatuner and tried to enable 16 piplelines but all i get are artifacts in Counter Strike Source Stress Test.
i tried lowering mem speeds, but still no joy, had to set card at defaults
(12 pipleines) and it ran without any probs, no faster though , but at least it ran ok.

before the bloomin heatwave my card's core temp was about 54c, it is now 60c.

any advice would be appreciated.

I used Coolbits to overclock my 6800 PCIe, worked well for me, and it just integrates with the nVidia control panel that's already there. Can't remember the speeds I used...think it was 425/700, but games were much smoother after overclocking it. I reduced the 2D clock speed so that it was producing less heat when idle. I also use Expertool to reduce the fan speed, helps keep the noise down.

If you can't unlock the pipes it probably means they're just damaged and won't operate properly.

Use Rivatuner {google it} to unlock the pipes and o/c as well.

edit... ignore the above - I didn't read 1st post properly

You can use ATItool to test for max core and mem settings - I've got a 6800 nu and I've got it running in the rig in my sig. :)

yup trying coolbits now, but the 2d settings, which speeds did you choose ?

overclockings are much better now - thanks.

I went 100MHz below the stock speed - it was 200 or 300 I think. Bring it down as low as you like though, as long as the PC is stable and you don't notice any other adverse effects, it won't do any harm, and it'll keep the GPU running cool when it's not needed.
