6800 unlocking thread AGAIN!

ok its mea gain , well i was told that the PCI-E version of the 6800 cant be unlocked into 16 pipelines, is this true? according to this table it is using NV40, and so is the GT which has 16 pipelines, if theya re using the same chipset does it mean i can unlock it? and if i cant, but tried wil it damage my card?

What you cant unlock is the 6800GS on pcie as this uses NV42 which only has 12 pipes. There are no pipes to unlock. If its NV40 you can unlock (if it works ok) if its NV42 you cant.

im pretty sure that the PCI-E version cant be unlocked, theres no harm in trying anyway

Why don't you try it and find out?

Use Rivatuner - it's only a softmod tool, so it won't do any damage to your card should it not quite work out...

Thats all the advice I can give at this point I'm afraid, as you haven't stated what exactly which card you have so it's a bit difficult...

oh yea sorry, i ordered it , should be coming next week. its a "albatron 6800 128mb DDR"

so even if it not work it wont damage my card?

I hace a 6800PCI and there are not masked units.

PCI-E 6800's of any model dont unlock as far as I know.

think on the pci-e they are laser cut so cant do a software mod.
