sorry for bumping but ...
what actully make the 7800gt better than the 6800gs? except the 20 pipelines. Because the 6800gs run at 425/1000 whereas the 7800gs only run at 400/1000. So the GS is actully even faster. If GS unlocked into 16pipelines will it be better than the 7800gt?

Clock speed is not everything. Compare an AMD cpu to an INTEL one and you'll understand.
The 7800's are more efficient and compute in a completely different way to the 6800's so are not comparable clock for clock.
Just to clarify, a 16-pipe 6800 wouldn't be faster than a 7800.
