Hi, i have just bought a second hand XFX 6800gt, im having doubts whether this is a GT or a normal 6800. When run on 3DMark or nvidia control panel it just says 6800 family(or series, i cant remember), should it say GT? Does any one know how i can tell for sure? Thanks

You can tell if its a 6800 or a 6800GT by...

Right clicking on your desktop...

Clicking on properties...

Then click the settings tab in the box that comes up...

Then look down and it says "Display" and it will say...

"plug and play monitor on nvidia geforce 6800 or 6800GT

Let us know how you get on!

Steve

Edit: already mentioned :p

idea, go to display properties > settings should tell you in there in graphics card information, look for something like this:

Processor: GeForce 7600GT
Video BIOS Version: 5.73.22.16.68
IRQ: 18
Bus: PCI express x8
Memory: 256MB

AFAIK, the 6800GT will have a large cooler on it like THIS one, whereas the 6800 standard looks more like THIS.

I dont know if that is the case but I'd second that.

My card is a 7600GT and it has the big kinda fan on it!
If he says its a 6800GT, it is mate :)

6800 family doesn't mean it's not a GT, just like my X1800 XT says X1800 'series'. The clocks speeds is the easiest way to check, or post a 3DMark score.
