Hi does anyone know where I can get the core temperature of a Nvidia 6800GT from? The advanced display properties show it for both my 7800GTX and 7900GTX, but not for the 6800GT.

I have just added a zalman gpu water cooler to my loop and am interested in seeing what the temperature currently is.

My card doesnt support temp monitoring (6600) ... might be an issue with yours aswell if you said the other cards work too... :(

6800GT's do support temp monitoring. It should display it in the same place it does with the 7800 and 7900. Speefan doesn't show GPU temps does it?

I'm thinking about buying the Thermaltake Bigwater watercooling system myself, could you post a picture of your set up please?

Acouple of pictures from an earlier post. The Bigwater does do the job and is very quiet though I don't think that it has the scope of the likes of the Swiftech kits or custom builds.

My question about the 6800GT relates to my media center machine, which today is now also Bigwater cooled. It is not overclocked at all, and I am using a standard Bigwater kit( small pump version and single 120 rad) with a Zalman GPU cooler and it is very quiet, and is able to hold the X2 3800 at 38 degrees with the 6800GT in the loop. The Bigwater kit replaces a Artic cooling NV5 and an Akasa Evo 120 for the processor, and manages to keep them slightly cooler with less noise for a similar price.

Try using Speedfan, should show on there.

Thanks for that, Speedfan does pickup the 6800GT, but it is a little difficult to see which temperature listing it is in the final list as there are so many. I am going to see if there is anything in the registry that I can enable for the temperature readout in Display properties. It must be there somewhere.

MM5 ( Motherboard Monitor)

Displays both GPU Core and GPU Ambient temperatures.

(Nvidia 6800GT)

Cheers,

Mark

Usually from top to bottom IIRC would be:

CPU
Chipset
GPU
Mosfets/PWMIC
HDD

...

...

blah blah

But some motherboards are different and then the temps of each would be muddled.

I can pretty much find out your temps if you post what it says/reading on Speedfan

If you are using the latest nvidia drivers with the classic control panel option it will no longer show the temp. You will need to change to the new control panel in options & it will display it there.
