Depends a lot on what you would be doing (3d mark 06, Oblivion, Prey, Doom 3, MS Word 
) but I would think that between 1.5 and 3 times the fps/performance.

Should be using games mostly, things like HL2, CSS (which run at over 80fps all the time), BF2, Splinter Cell Double Agent, and upcoming games probably.
The reason i'm thinkin about upgrading is because i had to cut down the graphics quite a bit to make it run reasonably.
