6800LE Any good?

They're ok but I think your better off getting something more up to date. Take a look at the Sapphire X1600XT. They seem to be very good cards for the money. How much money are you looking to spend? The X1600XT is £130. If you can spend more try the 6800GS for under £150.
 
An X800GTO16 (or normal GTO) would be better. Available for a tad over £100.

They are not nvidia but when you have a tight budget don't limit yourself.
 
Don't want to go ATI (Sorry guys). Prefer Nvidia. Not sure wether to go for the 6600GT or the 6800 LE.

Id disagree with that iirc its only a 128 bit where as the LE is 256.

It may be better value but its not a better card for performance!

That's what i want to know guys. Is the 6800LE a better buy out of the 2 that i am after:

6600GT 256mb

6800LE 256mb

Anywhere that i can get a good review / benchmark of them?

as i sed b4 the 6800LE has 256 bit where as 6600GT onli ahve 128, but these results disagree

stil i would go for the 6800LE, bcoz i think it can be unlocked, and it would probably generate less heat than the 6600GT
 
to a certain degree yes. In some games it is faster and in others slower. really depends if you can unlock the pipes.

I would say go for the 6600GT and overclock it. Only becasue I used to have one and it was a solid performer.

The ordinary 6800 looks good too! That is an even better buy then?

Am i right in thinking that LE stands for light edition? This makes the 6800 a better card than the LE version? Bit confused with all the letters behind the 6800!!

What about these:

256MB XFX GeForce 6800 DDR DUAL DVI Extreme Edition (PCI-E)

256MB XFX GeForce 6800XT PCI-E SLi HDTV Dual DVI Out/TV

So confusing!!!!!!!!! Help

In the 6800 range, you've got the Ultra at the top. The GS has now replaced the GT (although GT still available) next in line.. then there's the 6800, often referred to as 6800nu or vanilla. then at the bottom of the scale you've got the LE which I believe has now been replaced with the XT.

The XT uses GDDR3 and is clocked quite a bit higher than the LE. IIRC pipes cannot be unlocked at all on the PCI-e cards.

Google around for comparisons, I've found a few comparison charts and the 6800XT does seem to be a very good card for the price tag.
