6800NU or 6800PRO

6800nu often fully unlock to 16/6 and overclock quite well too - making them good value. I've been over the moon with mine :)

And yes, totally destroys a 9800 Pro, of course.

9800pro has a little less power than a 6600GT. :)

They are quite close in performance. It's certainly not worth upgrading from a 9800pro to a 6600GT.

If you go for the 6800 I'm sure you won't be disappointed, they're very decent cards :)

9800pro is useless compared to the 6800. its like comparing the 6800 to the x1900xt.
Lol the performance difference isnt the same as comparing the 6800 to a x1900xt, a 9800pro can rival a 6800 in some games but others it falls a bit behind, its definetly better but not the same as a 6800 to x1900xt which has well over twice the raw power and 4X the ram.

Heres a nice little review between a 9800xt and a 6800nu, obvioulsy he was taking about the pro but theres botall difference really except for little higher clocks you can do for yourself, the review shows the 6800 to be better.
6800 can be modded etc also to run faster and give a 20-30% increase maybe dependant on how lucky you are, but I found the limiting factor with these cards are the 128mb ram - some games just wouldnt run at my native resolution or high texture details, it would go lower than 1fps as the card didnt have enough ram to process it, i got a 6800gt and this was fixed, on a x1800xt now though.

My bad didnt realise the 6600gt was running higher details.

Weird review comparing cards running different details lol.

yea i like the review methods of hardocp. it shows you what is playable on each card they review so you can see exactly the sort of real world benefit you get from either card over the other.

doom3 games show the biggest difference. the 9800pro has 256bit mem interface and 6600gt has 128bit. 9800 has more mem bandwidth overall but the 6800nu also has the 256bit mem interface which gives it the edge.
