Hi guys,
Just want ask if anyone send graphics card for RMA becouse of coil whine?
It is 6800xt Nitro from Sapphire and about 4 months ago she start playing with my patience making coil whine sounds.
I have try on 2 diffrent PSU but is the same. I have bought the card in February 2021. You think is it worth to send it to the shop or manufacturer?
I have bought the gpu from a guy which make some money on it as all of us rember how to difficult was to bought one for a good price. Card was unopened when i bought it but there is his name on receipt but anyway he is living 20 minutes from my place (he leave my all his details if his help is needed).
What you think guys is it worth to try ? I know that decreasing voltage is making it quieter but since day its working on 1mV. It makes sounds only while gaming and in not all games( fifa in menu while loading but thats is becouse of high fps which you can not limit... , and in warzone most of the time while playing but not very lound.)
Just thinking about it as it's last 2 months on warranty and i was thinking about selling it and get newer one.

I've returned cards during the 14-day return window because of coil whine, but I haven't sent one for RMA. It's going to heavily depend on the policy of each individual company. Doesn't hurt to ask though if it's really driving you nuts. They can only say no. It drives me nuts too, which is why any card I buy goes straight back if it has a significant amount.

Did you then buy a differnt brand card and try your luck again?
Or order the same one again?

Coil-whine drives me nutz too... but after going through 3 30 series cards I just gave up and grin and bare it. Not happy, but not going to spend countless hours buying/returing cards in the hope of getting lucky.

OP, I RMA'ed my 3090FE for coil-whine. nVidia was brilliant with the while process taking less than 2 weeks to complete, and didnt cost me a penny.
However... the returned card still has coil-whine. Slight less maybe... but still annoying.

Ok i am gonna message the shope and we will see what's happen next.
You think they might doing problem becouse of other person details on receipt?
Sometimes some companies are not happy about that but i had one battle with one shop in a past and finally i won with them as warranty is on PRODUCT not on purchaser.
It's from Overclockers shop.

I suspect it'd be far less hassle to just turn your volume up, unless it's really bad. Disappointing from a premium card (Nitro).

I always ended up going for a different model, but over the years I've certainly experienced it with the same model of card where one whines/buzzes and another doesn't. I've owned a bunch of Sapphire Nitro Polaris cards over the years and some have whined, some haven't. It seems to be entirely sample-specific. The Asus TUF 3070 I'm using at the moment has none at all.

It might be worth putting a hard frame cap in the drivers. The only other thing you can do is leave it in a bench mark loop for a few hours.
