Hi i bought a B grade 6800XT last month and it's making what I think is coil whine but it's so loud it drowns out the sound of the tv.Customer support got back to me and said it's normal and not considered a fault,but in no way do I think this is normal,it sounds like the card is going to break.

I have attached a couple of videos,but it's so much louder than it shows

That's pretty loud whine, almost certainly why it was returned. Most modern cards have it to some degree or another.

I must be getting old as I cannot hear the whine. Does it happen all the time. If you frame cap to your monitors refresh rate can you still hear it.

It's really loud and I have a LG B8 so it's always capped to 60fps.It happens all the time unless it's a really old game

probably why its b grade cause someone returned it for coil whine, to be fair i also cant really hear anything loud that im not sure isnt fan noise
 
If it is really audible capped at 60fps then that isn't great.

It is rare to get a GPU that doesn't squeal a bit at really high FPS i have found though.
 
They asked me to take a video from viewing distance to see how loud it was from there,and within 5 minutes of me sending it they agreed to RMA Unfortunately they can only refund as they have no more in stock,so I don't know what card I could possibly get that is as good as this for £450

It wont be as fast but it is close and you get a game worth 50 quid.
