hi,my pc in the specs has been running stable and cool for about two months in its present condition.it had at this stage 1 gig of ram (2x512),i then found another identical pair for a good price and added these.with all four slots full the pc became unstable so i lowered the command to 2t and uppede the voltage to about 1.95v and this cured the issue.now about three days ago the system became very unstable, crashing out back to mobo boot up screen with random reboots etc and freezing and locking up.this was with both games and desktop!!
i had some new ram (super talent 2x1gig)so i replaced the 4 sticks with the new ram and still the same!i then reverted to stock cpu speed and voltages and ran orthos blend and fails in 5 secs!if however i run the ram and cpu test seperate it will run for about 2 mins.
the ram sticks were in the standard 1st pair of slots(the blue ones)so i put them in the second pair(black) and all is ok!!!will run orthos etc for as long as you like, but still crashes if i raise the fsb back to 1715(3ghz).
please any advice is much appreciated as this is really confusing the hell out of me.
a further note is i have a hyper 530 psu but the voltages remain un altered in cpuz while it crashes or fails orthos so i dont think its that but you never know and also the temps are good (cpu at 37deg under full load at 3ghz)...neil
