I have two 1GB sticks of OCZ 6400 Gold rev1 (5-5-5-10) and two 1GB sticks of new OCZ 6400 Gold Rev2 (5-5-5-12).
Problem is that when I put them all in my 680i fails to boot and beeps on the C1 code, which is memory related. I can use 3 sticks fine, but just not 4

Is this most likely due to the mixing of ram, or are the boards picky with memory?

What would you recommend? Me selling the older sticks and buying some more Rev2, or selling all of them and buying a different brand?

Interested in your opinions, thanks :)

Have you tried different permutations?

Bank 1 - OCZ1
Bank 2 - OCZ2
Bank 3 - OCZ1
Bank 4 - OCZ2

That will most likely work if anything :)

Have you checked the voltaage is set right in the boios. To the official memory specs?

Just a thought

Yeah I've ensured the voltages are correct, I can vouch for the resuming from sleep problems people have been having with 4GB - just doesn't work :D

I need a suggestion for RAM for my new EVGA NForce 680. Is this Geil 2gb kit any good? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-GL

yes it OK thats what i have in

note as it states on the ram package the spd is for 1.9v and PC5300 for compatiblity, you need to set up the correct 800mzh 2.1 volts and 4,4,4,12 in bios

gives 5.4 in vista ram score all the rest are 5.9 here note this is all at stock with raid 0
