680i will crossfire work

Don't think so, even in the case of the new dongleless cards, needs a Crossfire compatible chipset, (ATI or Intel 975x effectively). I never heard of hacked drivers like there is for SLI either.

No SLI can be made to work on a Crossfire motherboard using hacked drivers, proving that it's just Nvidia protectionism that requires you to use an Nforce chipset. Problem is that they're not the latest drivers.
