I was just wondering how much of a performance increase I would see going from a 4850 1gb to a 6850? They seem very cheap at the moment and if it's a large increase in performance for something like Diablo 3 I think I'll get it.

Otherwise I was thinking about just waiting and saving up for a 570 or something, but it will take me a little longer as opposed to instant gratification! lol

Hi there,

The HD 4850 is roughly on the performance level of the HD 6750 (though this card does have more VRAM).

This chart shows how the HD 6750 compares to the HD 6850.

So you are basically getting 50-60% more performance and double the VRAM (so better performance at higher resolutions), which for £85 is a pretty good deal IMHO.

The 6850 is about the same as a 5830 iirc.

You'll notice a good 60% increase in frames etc...going from a 4850 to a 6850. If you can stretch to a 6870 you'll see about a doubling of your card(4850)
