6850 to 6970 and Eyefinity with older CPU?

I've currently got a 6850 overclocked to 950/1050 which I'm very happy with. I'm planning on buying 3 x 22" screens and an active DP adaptor to go to 5760x1080 for gaming. I mainly play WoW but I'm concerned that the 6850 won't have enough grunt to give me a sensible frame rate at this resolution so I was thinking of moving to a 6970.
The issue is that my CPU is a Q6600 overclocked to 3.5GHz which by todays standards isn't the hottest thing in the world.

So, my question to you oh lords of GFX hardware is; Is there any point in moving from a 6850 to a 6970 with my current setup?
 
Well, I bought a 6950 and flashed it to a 6970. Performance in games at 5760x1080 is noticably improved (30% give or take) compared to my 6850. So, the old Q6600 still has some life left in her yet.
