6850 vs 460

Depends if you want to overclock or not, I own a gtx 460 768mb and when that EVGA was first out it was a monster, but that wee 6850 looks no bad for the price.

Try searching the model and product names in the forum :D

Got the 6850 you linked to.
REALLY quiet card, mine goes to 960 on the core with minimal volt increase.

I personally chose it purely on price. Both are reasonable cards for the £££'s,
but at £84 it was a no brainer.

£124 for the MSI 460 would it not be best to compare it to the 6870 at £119, the performance difference at Anandtech.

If the 6850 meets your needs then you can save some money, otherwise the 6870 is the best out of that bunch and cheaper then the EVGA 460. And you can still overclock the 6870.

For some further reading Tomshardware done an overclocking article with these cards plus others, Tomshardware.

Edit:
Don't get me wrong the 6850 is a great buy for the money if it meets your needs.

I have the Asus 6850, like others have said, very quiet. I only really appreciated this when trying out an old 2nd hand Gainward 460 2GB card. I've got my 6850 overclocked to 950MHz, but I could only get the 460 up to 875MHz. I benchmarked both on Batman Arkham City, the 6850 beat the 460 easily, and was practically silent. The 460 was loud when gaming.
