Hi

I was looking at an asus 6850 @ £99 vs an xfx 6870 @ £129.

I have a 1080p monitor, i3 2120, 8gig ddr3, crucial m4 ssd and a cooler master 550w power supply. Currently running a 1gb 9500 GT as it's been a week by week budget build, the graphics card is the last piece of the puzzle :)

Which would you say was the best value for money? I'm thinking brand as well as performance.

I'm unsure which to get. Is the 6870 worth the extra £30 over the 6850, taking into account the types of cooler and brand reliability too?

While I'm here, is there any card from either nvidia or ati within the £100-£130 range that has superior performance to the 6850/6870 ?

I dont want to wait for the 650s, 660s or 7790s.

Thanks, been looking at those too. I heard you can do ambient occlusion on the nvidia card, would be nice for diablo 3. I'm buying some time tomorrow so it'll be one of those three cards anyway.

A couple of weeks ago the 6850 was £85, at that price it would be a no brainer.
It overclocks to an easy 20% over stock as well without touching voltage (well my brothers does, 25% with a few extra mV)

Based on that i personally would go for the cheaper 6850, but then i'm not sure how the 6870 clocks :L

If it were me I'd get the 460 [well, I have one :p], or the 6850 if money was tight. I'd not bother with a 6870 though when a 460 or 6850 overclock so well
