6870 1Gb Upgrade options

Noticed my card have a few dips in performance at full res on my 27" dell.

What would the best option be to get more performance, pick up another 6870 and xfire, or get replace it with current gen, or wait? Or even get top 6xxx card?

Spec is i5 2500k @ stock, 16gb ram, ssd

Depends what your budget is!!

7850 is a great price Vs Performance Ratio card at the moment if you can stretch to the asking price

Is your monitor 1080p?

If so sell it and get a 7850. 1GB of VRAM is going to limit you with 6870 crossfire. Enough GPU power to run high res textures/AA but not enough VRAM to load the high res textures.

I don't think vram has as much as an impact as some people think. If you check most reviews 6870 crossfire performs amazing even at higher than 1080 resolution
