6870 + AMD Overdrive.

I have a XFX 6870 Black Edition and I'm wondering what would be the safest speed to overclock it to?

Standard GPU Clock: 940 (Max- 1000)
Memory Clock: 1150 (Max- 1250)

Any help would be appreciated.

Your card is stock overclocked out of the box and the 6870s werent known for great overclocking prowess particularly, unless you wanted to tinker with voltages and the likes. I'd probably just leave it where it is, as you're only likely to net negligible improvements.

The memory isn't overclocked, so perhaps see if that is stable at 1200 and the core at 960, but honestly you're likely not going to see massive mhz beyond that unless you've got a really good card, even with higher voltage on the cores, I've not seen many 6870s much over 1Ghz on the core.

My 6870 Black Edition was running safely at 1060/1260 24/7 using Trixx, so try it and see.
