Just a quick but possibly odd one -
Just upgraded the Graphics card on my 2nd PC from a 4890 to a 6870 as I acquired it for next to nothing, but in game experience in WoW is now noticeably worse i.e. flying round outdoors I am getting less than 15fps.
Specs are:
Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.8Ghz (9.5x400)
4Gb DDR2 @ 800Mhz
Asus P5K-SE
1280x1024 Monitor
Have tried several different drivers 14.9 (Mantle error messages), 14.4, and 13.9 (which was what was running fine on the 4890). Clean uninstalled, driver versions showing correctly etc.
Have tried tweaking settings in Wow etc, but even on lower settings than the 4890 could run, the GPU is being maxed according to MSI Afterburner, whilst both CPU cores are between 40-60%.
Whilst I appreciate it's an old machine, I would be grateful for any suggestions before I put the 4890 back in
*EDIT*: Have put the 4890 back in and am getting 50fps in same location 6870 was getting 20 :S
Will probably try the 6870 again tomorrow and give DDU a shot, but open to any other suggestions
