6870 Upgrade?

I think it might be time for an upgrade to my graphics card which I got around 3 years ago if my memory serves me right. My current graphics card is: AMD Radeon HD 6870 (1GB)

I don't have a set preference so I do not mind switching over to NVIDIA or sticking with AMD. My budget? I don't want to pay a massive amount of money so anything under £300 would be sweet. The rest of my specifications are in my signature - If you feel anything else needs upgrading then let me know!

What I play? Normally Battlefield 4, Minecraft and Flight Sim X.

Any suggestions/commendation will be appreciated.

For that budget your best bet is either a GTX 770 or a R9 280X. Between the two I would suggest the R9 280X like this one, as its about £30 cheaper than the GTX 770 and performs well.

If you don't have one already, you may also want to consider getting an SSD - they are really worthwhile for gaming and general use. £100 would get you a very nice 240/250GB one like the Crucial M500.

That's quite a bargain.

I admit its not the fastest SSD on the market, but its still pretty darn fast and a massive step up compared to a HDD. If anyone is hesitating on giving an SSD a go then this is a deal that may get people to see the light.
