6870 vs. 7870: Upgrade or wait?

With the price of the 7870 looking like around $350 (£220, so £250 once here) and giving performance increases of >30% is it a good time to upgrade?

Because it was impossible to answer. He is speculating on price and I fear he is off. It will be more than £250 so for that reason I can't answer his question.

You can't blame a guy for optimism. I was a little disappointed when i saw the US pricing of the 78xx cards. If they turned out to be more like £200 it might be a good deal for the performance boost but at over twice the cost of a second 6870 it's going to be a hard sell.
