Hello,

Don't know what to do,

Found a 690 for £400, reckon it's worth picking it up or waiting until 800 Series is out and see what is has to offer?

800 launch is still in the rumour stages so I wouldn't pin your hopes on it.

If I was spending £400 right now on a gpu it would be a £269 290 and sit on the change

This. Another option would be to grab a 780 and add another later or the 290 and add another of those later on. The 690 is still a nice card but the 2gb of vram means its not going to be future proof wether you need the vram now or not. At this point I wouldnt be buying a 2gb card is my humble opinion for what its worth

I'd agree with this tbh, my biggest concern would be the 2Gb of vram.

Ah ok fair enough cheers :)

Hmm.. Think I will just wait... Tbh most the games I play run happily with my 650Ti Boost so.. lol.

How much would you pay for a 780? Again lowest I've seen one from a reputable seller is £280.

I'd just get a R9 290 for £270 and wait, I don't think the GTX 8xx series is going to be any good because it is rumored to STILL BE ON 28NM! I just cant get my head around that :(

Second hand GTX 690 has no warranty either whereas a R9 290 has a minimum of 1 year normally 3 years.

Another GTX 880 bench surfaces.

It looks like the new card has very good SLI scaling too
