So recently I built a new machine quite a beast.

got a really good score on nova bench a few weeks ago, howeve now the direct3D11 score is very under par compared to two weeks ago I’ve tried fully reinstalling drivers and removing them all properly in safe mode.

It’s really annoying me as it’s a beast of a graphics card.

Sapphire RX 6900+ XT

Please see attached screenshots for comparisons and if someone can shed some light please do, I’ve tried primary mode, software mode everything on cpu and it’s just nowhere near what it was a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the reply. I installed cpu-z awhile ago.

howver I’m going to be completely honest I’m a total Novice!

Games run fine howver csgo after a game or two there is a lot of micro stuttering, player models jittering flash bangs jittering.

cod black ops Cold War runs fine all ultra never drops below 200fps.

if You can give me some ideas or tips or suggestions to post on here with instructions I will try.

many help is very much appreciated

Have you made any changes to the system in that time? It looks like the graphics card is running at a lower clockspeed than it should be.

I'd install GPU-Z (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) and check the graphs on the second (sensors) tab, this should show the clocks in real time and may also tell you what is limiting it (temps/power etc).
Have you noticed any change in performance in games?

Also could you list the full system spec?

GPU-Z result, this is the advanced tab which I presume shows the settings it runs at?

like I say I’m a total novice, but the gpu seems to be running far less than it was a few weeks ago. I’ve not adjusted any settings on it, trixx software is installed I’ve tried changing the bios switch from one to 3 which runs from the software, and still no difference either way. Uninstalled the graphics card drives with the proper programme that removes everything even registry files etc.

anyways here’s the advanced tab from GPU-Z

Thank you for taking the time to give an in depth reply it really is appreciated.

dragon centre I never installed I read all about it before I built the machine and avoided it, I do rmeneber a lot saying I should have for the 750. I will check the power connections and get back to you

ok, well AMD do list the power requirements as 850w for the 6900xt, so that's a possibility, but the consensus here was that 750 should be enough. I also vaguely remember another member with an RM series PSU having issues in a thread recently. (edit: can't remember if that was nVidia or AMD and also have no idea whether they resolved it)

I should have asked this initially - are the power connections on the card using separate cables to the PSU for each one? If they are using a shared cable that is the most likely cause.

It could also be some software messing with settings - I'm not sure if Trixx does anything like that but I know the MSI Dragon Centre software can apparently mess up CPU settings etc (do you also have that installed for your motherboard?).

It's personal preference but I'd probably avoid the software control and use one of the other two BIOS options at least until resolved.

But I’ve not overclocked anything or changed any settings except xmp profile in bios. It’s really getting to me as it was a really expensive build
never used nova bench what ever that thing is.

Download OCCT, run CPU + GFX test for an hr and see if its stable first, my guess it will probably crash.

I’ve tried all the settings performance, silent in case it was drawing to much power.

you definitely think it’s the PSU?

Is your card set on performance mode? Therefore its overclocked out of the box from AMD spec, with higher power targets.
Read the spec for your card.

https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/nitro-radeon-rx-6900-xt-16g-gddr6

System Requirement
  • Minimum 850 Watt Power Supply
  • 2 x 8-pin Power Connector.
  • PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard.
  • Minimum 8GB of system memory. 16GB recommended.
return your corsair 750 and get this, done

£130 great little psu

its like driving a car that states you need tyres minimum load 96 and you stuck a 92 load tyre. Your build is out of spec, mate.

I appreciate everyone’s replies I really do, as I say I’m a novice when it comes to problems with computers, I built this myself I have some knowledge but not in this area I’ve hammered google these past few days and tried all sorts.

I will try the various options, I got the psu from Amazon as I had a gift card on it! It was 119 for the white rx750 special offer, and wanted the white cables however the 850 and above aren’t in stock! They’ve acceded a rma and gave me a gift card to the value once they receive the item and I’ll have a look then.

Im kind of limited to funds now as I need major surgery this was a new build for my daughter as it’s her gcse year and going to collage and also loves gaming like her dad! So I’ve not much time before my major acdf surgery and limited to time I can attempt things as often in out of it on all the medication I’m on.

much love guys I’d buy you a beer if I could!
