6950 2nd screen trouble

so i got my graphics all set up and i went to plug in my second monitor but for some odd reason it doesn't pick it up when i place it into the second monitor slot and detect nothing occurs, any idea

How are you connecting it? DVI? VGA? Displayport?

Tried another cable? Another monitor to check the port's working?

Right click on windows desktop, click screen resolution and see if you can see the second monitor.

its a VGA and i hope the ports working or im gonna be mad. and the 2nd cable works on the first monitor i could connect my tv Via HDMI to the pc for number 2 but not my monitor which is identical to the first

The bottom DVI port doesnt work with dvi - vga adapters unfortunatly. I read its only a single link? port. I have one monitor with HDMI/DVI/VGA and one with VGA so i plugged my main monitor in via hdmi and the 2nd monitor via a dvi adapter into the top port.

ahhh that will be why then lucky for me my screen has a dvi port so ill just buy a dvi cable in the morning cheers guys
