I currently have a 6950 with 3 displays, although I can't get them all to work together.

I have a 19", 24" and 19" in that order.

I have the main 24" connected via DVI
I have the first 19" connected via DVI
I have the second 19" connected via mini displayport.

I can only seem to get 2 displays going at the same time no matter what I try.

When I select 'Common Display Tasks in Cat Control Center. All 3 show up, by I can't enable the 3rd. It keeps saying I need to disable 1 desktop before enabling another?

Any ideas?

What make and model 6950 do you have? The default models have 2x dual link DVI's so it shouldn't be an issue using the 2 DVI unless you model has a single link.

It's a HIS 6950.

2nd 19" is connected to a mini displayport to DVI convertor.

For same res, i thought that was eye-finity only? All I want to do is extend desktops.

An active converter means 'powered' and it gets power via a USB cable. A cheap way to get around this is to use a mini-Displayport to VGA adapter.

A cheap adapter wont work at all. You absolutely MUST have an Active Mini DP adapter. I think the one I use with my 6970 is an XFX one, should be £16-18 online.

I recommend the saphire DP/DVI adapter, i use one on my eyefinity setup (1680 x 1050 x3) and it seems to work very well. With regards to eyefinity resolution all monitors have to be set to the same resolution to generate an eyefinity group, in your case you will have to run at the resolution of your lowest monitor. If you just want to extend the desktop then you can run them at their native resolutions.

Passive DP-> DVI won't work if you already have 2 native DVI monitors connected already via DVI.

You need either atleast an active DP -> DVI adapter or a native DP monitor to get 3 displays going on your 6950.

My set up on my 6950 consists of 2 U2311Hs connected via DP, 1 U2311H connected via DVI and 1 U2407 connected via DVI.
