One question i have. I heard the 6950 has 2x 6 pin power connections where as the 6970 has 1x 6 pin 1x 8 pin. Does a 6950 unlocked to a 6970 have enough power?

Can an 8-pin cable actually supply more than a 6-pin? I'm sure I read somewhere that the extra two are just earths.

8pin can supply more, 300W~

but if the cable is a 8pin but your using it as a 6pin there shouldn't be a problem upping the power

I thought this myself. However, the 2 extra earths supposedly cause lower resistance, allowing the 3 live power cables to shift more juice, so to speak
