Ok, so you can flash the 6950s to become 6970s, but what does that mean about crossfire? If I decide to flash my 6950, would I then need to buy a 6970 later if I wished to CF it, or would it have to be a 6950?

Just a little something I've been wondering...

u can cf 6950 + 6950, 6950 + 6970, 6950 flashed + 6970, 6950 flashed + 6950, 6950 flashed + 6950 flashed ..

a flashed 6950 is still a 6950 but unlocked and higher clocks/voltage..

Afaik, you can crossfire 2 cards from the same designation, so a 6970+6970 or 6950, 5870+5870 or 5850, 6870+6870 or 6850, 5770+5770 or 5750, and so on...

Think the only exception to that was 5970+5870 tri-fire, but afaik that worked because the 5970 was 2 downclocked 5870's on one card

One thing you can be sure of though, is that someone will correct me if I've got that wrong :)
