Hey,
I recently bought a HD 6950 card and until now I havn't needed any more than one monitor.
However, i am currently doing a lot of multimedia work and the use of a second montor would come in very handy. I have a second monitor so I thought it would be simple to set up.
My main monitor can be connected through either DVI or AVG, but I dont own a DVI cable, so this monitor is connected using an AVG cable, that goes through a AVG>DVI convertor where it connects to the card. (Into the top monitor socket on the card)
The second monitor is just AVG and so, just like the first monitor, connects to the graphics card through an AVG>DVI convertor. (This is going into the bottom monitor socket on the card)
No matter what monitor i plug in to it, the bottom monitor socket on the card is not detecting. Ive had a look around on the internet and apparantly the bottom socket cant detect VGA signals, only DVI... but wont it be a DVI signal because of the use of the convertor, or does it not work like that?
Anyway... I think what I need is a DVI cable so that I can plug my main monitor into the bottom socket, and the second monitor through the convertor into the top socket.
I just wanted to check on here with you guys first so that Im not wasting my money on a DVI cable when that isnt the solution.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers!
