I am planning to buy a 2nd hand or maybe brand new 6950 to crossfire with my 6950 twin frozr iii. Would it be worth it or should I upgrade to the new generation of cards by selling my current card? My budget will only be £240 (after selling my 6950).

Also would my XFX XXX Edition 650W be enough to crossfire both cards? My CPU i5 2500k is at stock settings and plan to keep the cards at stock settings as I have no time to overclock.

With my system the highest I have seen it pull from the wall socket is 520W, so I can't see it being a problem unless you have more HDD's than you can count on your fingers and toes :D

What res do you play at?. The 6950 are still very good cards then in crossfire they scale very well together.

As for the psu the 650w should be fine depending of the rest of your set up?. I know my mate has a 750w psu with his rig and they r fine.

I game at 1920x1080 resolution and try to play at max settings.

My specs are:

i5 2500k, 8gb ram, 60gb SSD, 1TB F3, 500GB HD, H50, 2 Viper Fans, Antec 100, XFX 650W XXX, 6950 MSI Frozr III, Xonar DG

Even new the 6950s are quite cheap now,
I'm tempted to get hold of another card to muck around, I say go for it and if it doesnt work out you can always sell it on again.

£60 differrence between new and old :(

I was wondering can I crossfire my twin frozr with a different brand (Sapphire, Powercolor etc.) ?
